Winter weddings are not crazy common in South Dakota due to the unpredictability of the weather (60 F one day and then a blizzard the next...not even joking), but when they work out they are so beautiful, even if snow isn't on the ground. There's something about our wintry cotton candy skies at sunset here in the Black Hills that just...*chef's kiss*.

With a winter wedding just before Christmas, picking a theme is pretty easy. The Barn at Aspen Acres (also known colloquially as "The Barn" or "Black Hills Barn" even though there are several other barn venues in the Hills) had a gorgeous faux Christmas tree all decorated next to the big windows at the front of the barn, which made for a beautiful backdrop for some of the photos.
