Miranda + Nikholai
Check out this breezy engagement session in the Badlands of South Dakota. It may have been February, but the sun was shining and the wind wasn't too bad, either. That is one of my favorite things about western South Dakota--we could have a blizzard and have snow on the ground for two days, and then it warms up into the 50's. We might have a cold snap down into the -20's for three days, and then it's suddenly a balmy 35 F.
Engagement photos tip: The best time to start your engagement photos is usually about 1.5 to 2 hours before sunset, so if it is wintertime and the sun sets at 4:45 PM, then starting between 2:45 and 3:15 PM is recommended. Sunrise sessions are also a lot of fun, and in that case, it's best to start half an hour before sunrise.
